The two gunmen who shot and killed Young Dolph at a local cookie shop on Wednesday afternoon have been identified by Memphis police. The gunmen, whose names are yet unknown, disguised themselves with masks and sweatshirts. One of the shooters was armed with a Draco AK-47 pistol, while the other was armed with a handgun. The two males escaped in a light-colored Mercedes after the incident.



According to the Associated Press, authorities have begun a massive manhunt to apprehend the shooters, but no information about their identities or suspected intentions has been officially revealed as of yet. Memphis Police Chief Cerelyn CJ Davis advised citizens to remain home on Wednesday night, citing fears of retaliation, and warned that the police department may impose a city-wide curfew "in the case of acts of vengeance." Officers temporarily shut down a Memphis eatery owned by Young Dolph's longtime friend and business partner.



Maurice Hill, the proprietor of Makeda's Butter Cookies, where the incident occurred, told FOX13 that Young Dolph, 36, stepped into the bakery to buy cookies. Someone then drove up to the bakery in South Memphis at 1 p.m. on Wednesday and shot and murdered him. In the past, the rapper has been targeted. He was shot in the arms and buttocks by multiple bullets outside a shoe store in Hollywood in 2017, necessitating surgery. Dolph's SUV was shot over 100 times earlier that year in Charlotte, NC, in a shooting that resulted in an arrest warrant being filed for Blac Youngsta, who ultimately died,
